1960 Cadillac Sedan DeVille 6 window
8-31-09 - Last day to get the paperwork done at the county revenue
collector otherwise all prices are doubling. I had to transfer an out of
state title, register and get plates. 3 hours later and I'm out the door
with paperwork and plate, I am excited. I vacuumed out the caddy, the interior is totally shot. When I
got her many things were not working, below is a list:
Turn signals Brake lights
Head lights Parking lights
Power Seats Power Windows All interior lights
Radio
Clock Speedometer Cigarette
lighters PowerAntenna
Windshield Wipers
On a positive note I have all new
interior skins for the seats and 4 new hubcaps. Oh yeah I found the owners
manual in the trunk, super sweet. I decided to take a look at the fuse box
and I noticed the turn signal fuse missing. I put one in and now I have turn
signals, yipeeee. (time 6hrs)
9-1-09 - No work done, rained all
night.
9-2-09 - More good news the turn
signal fuse is also the brake light fuse so now I have brake lights. I
messed around with the head lights and found out my driver side high beam is
blown and my passenger low/high beam is blown. Since all the seals are shot
the front cab and trunk are filled with water from the rain last night. I punched out
the grommets to let the water drain. I have a cover but it is not waterproof
so for now I will use a plastic sheet to cover the car and then the fabric
cover. (time 4hrs)
9-3-09 - The good news keeps rolling in. I got the head lights from
Autozone, the single high beam is H5001 and the dual high/low beam is H5006.
It is nice to be able to see the road at night. I found a power window
service manual today and was able to determine that the driver's side switch
was not getting power. For the time being I ran a temporary power cable and
now I can roll down and up all four windows, that's what I'm talking about.
I found the feed and need to see where the short is. Perhaps its just old or
the wire is cut somewhere. I think the real issue is I am going to have to
rewire the whole car, uggg. (time 5hrs)
